Spring 2015

What a delight you have become, sweet little one! This spring was full of fun and you grew and changed so much! For starters, you got six teeth this spring! Two in March and FOUR MOLARS in April! You have started pretending, and it's so adorable. You love to pick up "nothings," as we call them. You pretend to pick something up and then you either pretend to eat it, or you offer it to one of us, saying "Thank you!" as you do. It's one of our favorite little games you play.

You are absolutely unpredictable at the dinner table. A food you liked yesterday is almost certain to be refused today. Although you generally accept most foods, I can never guess which day you will eat which foods. You are very fickle in that way and it is absolutely frustrating and yet somehow very hilarious.

You LOVE books. I mean you are crazy about them! You are constantly bringing me books and shouting "Ree, ree!" to me. You get upset if I don't pick you up and read to you right away. You love our dog, Pixie, and hug her every chance you get. She's not your biggest fan, but she tolerates you anyway. You despise your car seat and still cry almost every day in the car. And when I say cry, I mean that screaming, nose running, snot-faced, desperate cry. I wish so much I could do something to help you be happier in the car!

You adore your big sister and want to do whatever she is doing. But at the same time, no one bothers you more than she does. She likes to try to "help" you and hug you and play with you in ways that drive you crazy and usually end up with you yelling and fussing and her being upset that she can't play with you in that way.

In March, you had the worst stomach virus ever known to mankind. At least, that's how bad it seemed to me. It was several days of extreme sickness - so much throwing up. And on top of that, your daddy was out of town and I was so stressed out and exhausted! But we made it through.

You are such a delight to me! I am so thankful you are my little girl and I'm having so much fun watching you grow and learn. I love you!

MARCH 2105

I take plenty of pictures of you crying, because you do plenty of crying.

You LOVE watching TV. I try not to turn it on much, but when I do you shout "Show! Show!" and then it's all I can do to get you to back up from the screen.

I just adore these little Klip Klop dolls and you love to play with them!

One of your favorites is this tea set, which used to be Penny's when she was your age. You love to have little tea parties and put your cakes inside the cups. :)

Your daddy is a fantastic daddy! He is a great caretaker and snuggler and reader. He almost always gets you ready for bed, brushes your teeth, gives you your allergy medicine. He sings to you and tickles you and pushes you on the swing. He loves his baby girl!

These teeth make you look like such a big girl sometimes! I love your cheesy grin.

This is what the living room looks like most days. It's your play room. And I love it!

Some of your favorite books.

In March you still weren't walking. But by the end of the month you were finally ready to at least take steps with assistance. That meant lots and lots of holding your hands from behind. You loved practicing this new skill!

Penny liked "helping" you walk - which usually either ended in giggles or screaming. We could never predict which it would bring.

APRIL 2015

You LOVE being outside - even if just in the stroller during a morning walk!

"Peek-a-boo!"

Your first Easter egg hunt

The obligatory cousin photo - you have some fun cousins!

Easter morning

A photo with the Palmer cousins!

You hate wearing sunglasses in the car, but any other time you think glasses are super fun!

Getting so much better at walking with your push toys in just a few weeks! Yay for progress!

I adore the sweet curls! You get so many compliments on them.

Of course, we had Grandpa take some family pictures in the park one day.

You are absolutely crazy about your cousin Ralee. You get SO excited when you see her!

Um, this face... I just love it.

Our pet rabbits let you get pretty close, but I'm not sure you have been close enough to pet them yet.

The day before we left for our vacation to Colorado, Daddy let you practice riding in the backpack. Who could have ever imagined you would love it so much? I'm sure glad you did! We drove to Denver to spend a week with our friends, the Gonzalezes, and had such a great time!

We couldn't find a rest stop near Enid, so we just stopped at Hobby Lobby instead to blow off some steam.

I don't know how it is that during our every day driving at home in Tulsa you scream and cry in the car seat, but on an 11-hour drive to Denver you were very good. I prayed a lot about that trip, so I think God just answered my prayers with the miracle of a good baby girl in the car. :)

Your very first hike in the Colorado mountains. You loved riding on Daddy's back and you were a very good girl!

Garden of the Gods

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo with the Gonzalezes - It was so fun!

On one of our hikes you fell asleep in the backpack. So funny!

I love this shot I got of you and Penny. Of course, Daddy was hiding on the other side keeping you very safe. But it's such a fun picture!

Fun in the car singing Old MacDonald

Having fun at Jorge & Missy's house

So while we were on vacation YOU LEARNED HOW TO WALK! There was one day during that week that Daddy and I left you with Jorge & Missy and we went out to do some hiking and enjoy a day by ourselves. (April 27)  J & M took you and Penny and their kids to a science museum and while you were there you took your first steps for Jorge. I can't believe after waiting as long as I did you didn't even take your first steps for me! He said you let go of his hand and just took four or five steps on your own. I was so excited! You are still pretty wobbly most of the time and you fall down a lot, but you don't mind. You are happy to be on your feet!

MAY 2015

Yep, this is what I get to enjoy in the car. All. The. Time.

Mother's Day with my girls. I sure am blessed!

You sure love your Pops!

Your walking skills have improved so quickly! I'm so happy for you!

As much as you love books, you often get confused. You bring me movies all the time shouting "Ree, ree!" and get so upset when I won't read them to you. It's so funny!

Sundays are hard on little tots. You always fall asleep not long after we leave church. There is just no chance for a nap in that busy and fun nursery!

This blanket has certainly become your "lovey." You carry it around everywhere you go. It has holes and stains from a stroller mishap, but I cannot convince you to choose another blanket.

Walking like a pro now! Woo-hoo!
